Using the tuner

This is a method of checking pitch and reference pitch using a microphone.

Start the microphone

  1. tuner.
  2. start and allow the browser to use your microphone.
  3. Play the instrument one note at a time and wait for the indication to stabilize.

Read the pitch

The center displays the detected note name, octave, and actual frequency. The center of the pitch scale is the target pitch, with the left indicating low and the right indicating high. If it's within ±5 cents, it's marked as in tune.

You can also check the stability of long notes by looking at the recording graph and checking whether the pitch continues to sway to one side.

Reference pitch and settings

The A4 reference pitch can be adjusted from 434 Hz to 448 Hz in 1 Hz increments. In Settings, you can display note names using standard, sharp, or flat notation and adjust microphone sensitivity.
