Using NotePlay

Using NotePlay

Learn how to check pitch by playing reference notes and chords.

Play notes

  1. NotePlay.
  2. Tap or drag the note you want on the circular note wheel.
  3. Playback ends when you release the note, and during playback, you can immediately stop it with the stop button.

On desktop, you can also use keyboard input along with the on-screen note wheel.

octaves and chords

Select octaves 1–8 with the up −/+ buttons. Single plays only one note, and Maj·min·Aug·dim plays a chord with the selected note as the root. If you turn Sustain on, the sound will be maintained even after you release your hand, and if you turn it off, the sustain sound will stop altogether.

The A4 reference pitch is adjusted in the same range as the tuner, 434–448 Hz.

Sound and notation settings

In Settings, you can choose the Oboe, Sine, Triangle, Square, or Saw timbre and adjust the volume. Note names can use standard, sharp, or flat notation.
